Tucked into the gentle hills of the countryside, the village offers the perfect backdrop for our spring design project. We’re reimagining the classic English cottage—using local gritstone, a traditional Peak District sandstone, combined with modern construction techniques. The aim is to create housing that meets contemporary needs while preserving the charm of its rural surroundings. Designed to sit quietly within the landscape, these homes will feel as though they’ve always belonged. Inspired by the area’s vernacular architecture, captured in recent site photography, our goal is to craft sustainable, timeless designs that honour tradition while looking to the future.
